Ms. Chantell trained with Contemporary Dance Theatre at BYU Idaho. For the last seven years, she has taught ballet, modern, tap, jazz, creative dance, folk dance and ballroom at Stage Door Dance Studio and Central Washington University. In 2007, Chantell established a ballroom dance program within the Ellensburg public schools. A gifted choreographer, she has collaborated with CWU Music and Theatre departments, Valley Musical Theatre and Tyee Middle School in Bellevue. Choreography credits include Nutcracker-Two Faces, A Little Night Music, Annie, Die Fledermaus, and Peter Pan. In 2009 Chantell received the Promising Arts Leader Award from Laughing Horse Arts Foundation. She is a member of NDEO and DEAW, and remains dedicated to fostering increased access and appreciation of dance in her community. In addition to teaching PreBallet at Emerald Ballet Academy, Ms. Chantell oversees the EBT Teaching Institute with Ms. Sarah, doing pedagogy workshops, mentoring TI dancers, developing thematic curriculum for summer school, and coordinating internships.
