Dress code (UpdateD for 2017-2018)

FEMALE DANCERS:

All female dancers in Ballet 1 and above will wear a camisole-style leotard in the color appropriate for their level, as well as pink ballet tights and pink, well-fitted, split-sole canvas ballet slippers.

Hair must be worn in a bun. No ballet skirts, shorts or sweaters are allowed in class so that teachers can ensure proper lines and placement. Please no jewelry. Dancers must wear their assigned class leotard to all Saturday rehearsals. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Upper-level dancers may wear a different-colored leotard for Power Pointe class on Wednesdays. Skirts may be allowed; check with your instructor.

PREBALLET 1, 2, 3:

PreBallet students may wear any solid-colored leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Ballet skirts are allowed, if desired. Dancers should have their hair secured away from their face.

BOYS:

Boys should wear black shorts, dance tights or leggings, a white t-shirt and black ballet slippers.

Character:

Dancers will wear their class leotard, character shoes and a black, knee-length character skirt.

Modern:

Modern dancers will wear black footless tights or black leggings with a black leotard. (Class leotard is also acceptable.) Students dance in bare feet.

Contemporary:

Dancers will wear their class leotard. Dancers may wear ballet slippers, dance paws, or bare feet.

JAZZ:

Dancers will wear a leotard of any color, tights or leggings, and jazz shoes. No baggy clothing or booty shorts.
