summer teaching institute (8th-12th grade)

The EBT Teaching Institute (TI) is a year-round program designed for high school students to apply their technical and artistic skills as trained dancers to the field of teaching and community arts outreach, and to expand their knowledge in preparation for a variety of dance-related careers.

Summer Session:

In addition to a June 12 workshop on teaching methods, TI participants have the opportunity to get volunteer hours for school by practicing their teaching skills at either an EBA camp (July 9-13, July 16-19, July 30-August 2) or Saturday PreBallet class (June 23-August 18). TI students are also encouraged to participate in the Magic Bus performance versions of Peter and the Wolf at Bellevue summer schools July 9-13, and can assist with the morning preschool classes there, too.

How to Register:

1. Students should sign up/pay for ballet intensive during the week they want to participate in Teaching Institute learning opportunities.
2. Email Ms. Sarah (sarahj@emeraldballet.org) the week you are available. She will finalize scheduling with you.
