Genna Carey is a professional dancer and choreographer. Originally from Battle Creek, MI, she graduated from Western Michigan University earning a B.F.A. in Dance. While living in New York City, she had the pleasure of working closely with Matthew Powell, Robyn Mineko Williams, Parsons Dance, KT Nelson, Lauren Edson, and Eryn Waltman, among others. Her own choreography has been showcased on stages including the Ailey Theatre, Peridance Capezio Theatre, Center of Performance Research, and 92nd Street Y.

Ms. Genna relocated to Seattle to dive deeper into her teaching, choreographic, and creative endeavors. She is the co-founder of AETHER, a Photo/Video Production, Art & Movement studio located in the Uptown neighborhood of Downtown Seattle.

In addition to teaching ballet to our advanced students, Ms. Genna will lead the Contemporary program at EBT.

“I enjoy the development and growth, physically and mentally, that happens when working consistently with a group of dancers. I love the process of redefining ideas of success and failure within technique and performance. I look forward to facilitating a safe and supportive space for individuality and artistic expression through each dance class together.”
